About Julia Burke
Julia Burke is an associate lawyer at Heeney Vokey LLP. Julia’s practice is specialized in representing both employers and employees in all areas of employment law such as wrongful dismissals, human rights and accommodation, employment standards, employment contracts, workplace policies, and related litigation. Workplace investigations also form a part of Julia’s practice.
Julia articled with an esteemed full-service law firm in downtown Toronto where she gained practical litigation experience. Julia was called to the bar in June 2018, and joined the Heeney Vokey team shortly thereafter. Julia has appeared before the Superior Court and Ontario Court of Appeal.
Julia obtained an honours degree in Kinesiology with a Business Management Option at Wilfrid Laurier University. While studying at Osgoode Hall Law school, Julia was an Orientation Leader, volunteered at the Community & Legal Aid Services Program, acted as Dean’s Fellow for the Civil Procedure course and received the Harold J. Rubenstein Prize in Restitution law.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys working out, watching sports, exploring the Toronto food scene, spending time outdoors and travelling.
